Polyester/Dacron Fabric -
Supeflite 102 is an ultra-fine
weave polyester/dacron fabric
with a weave, thread
count, and appearance almost
matching grade A cloth, but it has the superior
strength and durability of a synthetic cloth.
This fabric is easily shrunk by the application of
heat from a calibrated household iron. 2.7 oz per
sq. yard. FAA-approved (stamped) for Type-Certified
aircraft. Approximately 72 inches wide. Sold
by the yard.
SF104A Non-Certified Fabric
- A lightweight version of
the SF102 fabric. Weight is
1.7 oz. per sq. yard. For
homebuilt aircraft only. Recommended
for covering plywood
surfaces on any aircraft and any ultralight
aircraft. NOT FAA certified. This fabric is not
stamped. 71" wide. Sold
by the yard.
Bias finishing tapes of any
style are interchangeable
and can be used with any
fabric style. Bias tapes have
a weave pattern of 45 degrees
to the edge, and they
are suggested for installation
over compound surfaces - like wingtips and tail
surfaces. The bias tape will stretch to fit the required
contour without heat shrinking the edges.
Structure/fiberglass Primer Epoxy for System VI. To be used with metal, fiberglass, and composite materials. Should be mixed with Epoxy Primer Catalyst, SF820, before using. Mix ratio 2:1. Spray can chromate primers are not suitable, as they will be affected by the solvents. Unopened - Shelf life is 7 years. Opened - Shelf life is 1 year. Pot Life: 1 hour, Allow 30 minutes between coats. Dry time: 8 hours. Temperatures must be above 65 degrees to cure; 70 degrees is ideal. Available in quarts and gallons.
Epoxy Primer Catalyst (1 quart) - FAA approved. To be mixed 2 to 1 - primer to catalyst, with SF80 Epoxy Primer. For application on metal, fiberglass, and other composite materials. Unopened it has a shelf life of two years. Opened, its shelf life is one month.
Created to make the primer more flexible.
Mix with the SF6500 Primer Base, the
SF6600 Catalyst, and the SF6820 Reducer
to create the primer/filler coat. The
flex agent is already mixed into the paint.
FAA-approved. Shelf life of 5 years if unopened;
1 year if opened. Mix ratio 1
primer, 1 catalyst, 1/2 flex agent.
For mixture with the Superflite paint to create
the finishing coat. The color is supplied
in quart or gallon kits, and you only
need to add a half pint of catalyst to the
three-quarters-full quart can of color, stir,
and spray. For a gallon of paint, add 2
pints of catalyst. FAA-approved.
It's a fast drying engine enamel
with superior adhesion qualities.
It reduces with most enamel thinners.
Supeflite engine enamel is
heat resistant, and it has a high gloss
finish. When properly covered
at 77 degrees Fahrenheit,
this paint will maintain a sprayable
viscosity for an indefinite
period of time. Quart cans can ship
ORMD - No Hazmat fees for ground shipments.
Clear Butyrate, 12% Solids -
#125. System I. Used before
SpraFill for build up. Also used
as a base for the color coat mixtures.
Available in gallon, 5 gallon
and 55 gallon sizes. Thin
with #131 butyrate thinner. Thin
U500-04 Green Tint Adhesive -
Mixed with Methyl Ethyl Ketone
(MEK) to provide the adhesive
for the fabric and surface tapes.
A thin coat of U500 & MEK is the
perfect "glue" for the fabric and
tapes. The green tint allows you
to see where the glue has been
This is the final step for the System
VI cover and finish system.
If you want an extremely durable,
long lasting, high-gloss “wet
look” finish, this is the paint to
use. This is a specially formulated
, catalyst-activated , high solids,
low VOC polyurethane that
not only works great with fabric,
it is also the perfect choice for
aluminum, fiberglass and composite material.
This will prevent ugly mismatches between unlike
surfaces like the engine cowling and the fabric.
The magic is perfect every time. Color choices
are virtually unlimited. Recommended for use
with the complete Superflite System VI. Seven
year shelf life if unopened. One year shelf life if
opened without catalyst. Fabric primer filler, use
SF6500. Metal primer, use SF10. ...
A flammable liquid ketone used as a
solvent and a constituent in many
aircraft finishes. Like MEK, acetone
is quite universally used as a cleaner.
It is used to remove lacquer finishes
and for clean-up after
painting. It will soften acrylics or lacquers
that have set-up in spray
guns or hoses. But, it has little effect
on polyurethane which has cured in
the gun or lines. When buying acetone, be sure
to get only virgin acetone, as recovered acetone
is often so acidic that it can damage anything on
which it is used. Gallons require hazardous material
fees. Quarts and gallons must be sent UPS
An important, low cost solvent similar
to acetone. It is used as a
cleaning agent to prepare a surface
for painting and as a stripper
for certain finishes. It removes wax
and grease from a surface prior to
spraying a finish, and it finds use in
the engine shop around the ignition
and carburetion systems for cleaning
and decarbonizing parts. Gallons
require hazardous material fees. Quarts and
gallons must be sent UPS ground only.
Portable spray gun with a capacity of
16 oz. Perfect for any small touch up
job. Sprays enamels, lacquers, epoxy
coatings, zinc chromate, acrylics,
primers, and more. Detachable container
jar comes with its own cap, allowing
for safe storage of any leftover
paint. Cleans up quickly and easily
using appropriate solvent. Replacement
container jar available. Must be
sent UPS ground only. Can not be sent outside of
